So watching the news tonight, and the top story is the ever-rising price of gas. Today in Vancouver the cheapest I saw was $1.14.9 per litre.

The crux of the story ... that being an oil-producing nation, this is fuelling the Canadian economy. People in the oil sector and it's immediate spinoffs are spending their disposable income on houses and cars and consumables, in turn funnelling their money into other sectors. Another topic was the rapidly spiralling American deficit, now in the trillions due to that idiot warmonger down south. And to top it off, the American economy is in a bad situation because American manufacturers cannot export their goods.

Is any of this starting to sound familiar??

In the 70s, gas prices went sky high due to shortages. The boom in Alberta drew people from all over the world to work in the oil patch, where many of them became quickly rich. They then, in turn, started buying houses ... and cars ... and consumables ...

And to top it off, at the time the Canadian dollar was worth more than the American dollar. At least before the bust.

HELLO?!?!?!?! Anybody home, McFly? Have we all forgotten the word R-E-C-E-S-S-I-O-N?

Holy bankruptcy, Batman.

T-Shirt Parade

After stopping in at the local pub tonight, I saw a guy wearing a T-shirt saying "pornstar stunt double". So it got me Googling...

And especially for Greg...
